The Story So Far

Katie Wilson, Founder & Coordinator

Hi Missoula Mamas! I'm Katie Wilson, and I'm so excited to welcome you to the Missoula Mama Circle. I'm married to my incredible husband, Nic Wilson, and we're the proud parents of our sweet son, Phoenix Leo, who joined us in January 2024.

Originally from Colorado, I earned my degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado Denver. My professional journey has been dedicated to advocating for those in need, with a focus on supporting abused and neglected children and most recently, working with domestic violence survivors at a family justice center. In leading our Mama + Mini Support Group, I draw from my experiences in social work managing and leading teams of advocates, as well as support groups for survivors of violence.

As I prepared for motherhood, I made the decision to step away from my career and embrace the beautiful journey of being a stay-at-home mom. Our family moved to Missoula in October 2024, and while we're loving our new home, I quickly realized the importance and need for an organized, strong community of fellow moms with regular coordinated events.

That's why I created the Missoula Mama Circle. I wanted to cultivate a safe and welcoming space for stay-at-home moms of young children to connect, attend weekly meetups, and form lasting friendships. Motherhood fills our hearts and souls but can still sometimes be isolating, and I was searching for the camaraderie and support that comes from shared experiences.

My goal is to create events and activities that are especially tailored to the unique journey of being a stay-at-home mom with young children. I'm looking forward to building this community with all of you!
